Executive Biographies
Chris Randles, President and Chief Executive Officer
Chris Randles has over 25 years experience in the application software industry. His career has encompassed a variety of sales, marketing and general management positions in the US and Europe for application and enterprise software companies. He has contributed successfully to new and established enterprises, and has managed businesses at all stages of development, from startup to turnaround and profitable growth. He has a strong belief in, and commitment to, global strategy. Randles was most recently Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Borealis Ventures. Prior to Borealis, Randles led the management buyout of Mathsoft and served as its Chairman, President and CEO until the company was acquired by PTC (Parametric Technology Corporation). Randles holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Oxford, England.

Gregory Stott, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance & Operations
As SpaceClaim’s Chief Financial Officer, Gregory Stott brings more than 20 years of strategic financial experience working with venture-backed technology companies. Stott is responsible for all financial, legal, and administrative operations within the company. Prior to SpaceClaim, Stott was the founding Chief Financial Officer for Covergence Inc., a developer of session border control solutions, where he played an integral role in negotiating and executing the sale of the company to Acme Packets. Prior to Covergence, Stott was the Vice President of Finance & Treasurer for Telica, an innovator of VoIP switching products. Stott was part of the leadership team that negotiated the sale of the company to Lucent Technologies. Stott has also held senior management positions at Agile Networks (acquired by Lucent), and Leaf Systems (acquired by Scitex). Stott started his career as a certified public accountant at Arthur Young & Company, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Stott is a graduate of Bentley College and holds an MBA from Nichols College.

Rich Moore, Vice President of Business Development
Rich Moore imparts successful executive leadership, including CAD/CAM and CAE sales expertise, to his role as SpaceClaim’s Vice President of Business Development. Prior to joining SpaceClaim, Moore was President and CEO of IDe, Product Portfolio Management. Previously, as Vice President and General Manager of the Americas for Computervision Corporation, Moore helped increase the CAD/CAM company’s revenue by 50 percent, leading to its acquisition by PTC. Earlier, at MSC Software Corp., Moore helped the publicly traded company achieve a 35 percent market share in the competitive CAE market segment. He has also held senior management posts at Alias Research and Aries Technology and served on the board of MIT’s Center for Innovation in Product Development and as Vice Chair of the Product Development Management Association Supplier Advisory Council. Moore earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lindenwood University.

Daniel Dean, Senior Vice President of Research and Development
Daniel Dean leads SpaceClaim’s team of world-class engineers dedicated to new technical innovation in 3D mechanical design. Dean is responsible for all aspects of SpaceClaim product development, including research, product definition, development, quality assurance, documentation, and release. Previously, Dean was a co-founder of PTC, where he pioneered parametric feature-based solid modeling, a technology that has formed the basis of all major 3D CAD systems. As Vice President of Mechanical Applications at PTC, Dean led the team responsible for developing the data model, architecture, and functional logic of all end-user deliverables across multiple product lines, from parts and assemblies to manufacturing, sketching, and cabling. Prior to joining PTC, Dean was introduced to 3D CAD/CAM as a software engineer at Applicon. Dean holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Engineering from Cornell University.

Bernie Buelow, Vice President of Corporate Marketing
Bernie Buelow is a seasoned marketing professional with more than 25 years of experience driving programs and building stakeholder value. Buelow is responsible for SpaceClaim’s product marketing, corporate communications, channel/partner marketing, PR, Web-based marketing, and e-commerce. Prior to joining SpaceClaim, Buelow was the Director of Corporate Communications for Mathsoft, where he led all customer and marketing communications, customer service, and global e-commerce activities, helping to drive the company’s 150 percent growth in just five years. Mathsoft was acquired by PTC and Buelow then established the PTC e-commerce sales channel. Earlier experience includes senior marketing positions at Deltek, a publicly held company that develops ERP solutions; Advanced Visual Systems, a provider of 3D visualization software; and Harper and Shuman (acquired by Deltek), specialists in management solutions for architectural and engineering firms. Buelow is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts.

Steve Costello, Vice President of North American Sales
Steve Costello joins SpaceClaim with more than 20 years experience in sales and sales leadership for technology companies. He is responsible for all North American SpaceClaim sales, including direct and indirect channels. Costello has held senior-level sales positions in both large and small companies, including DigitalGlobe, BAE Systems, and Z Corporation. He was most recently Direct of Sales for DigitalGlobe, where he led the America's enterprise sales team. Costello holds a BS degree from Babson College and a MS degree from Bentley College.
